Grass cobs - A practical alternative to roughage

Pre Alpin is a totally natural product that contains more than 60 different types of grasses grown in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps. The special methods used to harvest these grasses prevents them from fermenting later on and the loss of nutrients commonly associated with fermentation. It also preserves the grass’ leaves and seeds’ integrity – thus producing a beautifully clean and high-quality meadow grass cobs.

Warm air-drying largely prevents mould growth and thus ensures that these cobs are free from the toxic by-products of mould growth that are a frequent occurrence in low-quality hay and silage. The low dirt and dust load of these cobs is furthermore particularly beneficial to horses suffering from allergies and to those with sensitive digestions. Pre Alpin can also be soaked in water prior to feeding, which makes it an ideal feed for covering the daily roughage requirements of older horses that suffer from chewing-related problems. Pre Alpin furthermore makes an excellent alternative to roughage and is also suitable for feeding together with lower grade hay and silage to provide extra roughage and nutrients, or as a replacement for concentrate feeds for horses on grain-restricted diets. Large horses will already reap the benefits of Pre Alpin with regard to both their digestion and nutritional advantages when fed from as little as 2 kg per day.
