These days, most horses’ energy needs can be more then adequately met by feeding them very small concentrate feed rations. However, feeds tailored to provide energy often lack essential nutrients and regenerative agents, while conventional mineral supplements often fail to meet the real nutritional needs of these horses. This generally results in a range of deficiencies that express themselves in nervousness, restlessness, skin problems, digestive problems, susceptibility to infections and allergies, to loss of weight and infertility.

Hesta Mix is rich in vital nutrients and highly biologically available micronutrients. This guarantees an adequate and proper supply of organic and highly available trace elements even when fed in small quantities. Hesta Mix rapidly and reliable resolves any deficiencies thanks to its ready absorption in the intestine and rapid transport to the relevant target organ.

Hesta Mix has proven itself in particular with pasture-kept, special breeds and baroque horses, as well as thoroughbreds, and in particular with horses suffering from nutritional deficiencies. Hesta Mix is suitable for incorporation into breeding and pregnant mares’ feed rations up until the 8th month of pregnancy.

Hesta Mix Classic
Hesta Mix Classic is a whole food pellet feed that contains highly available trace elements and has proven itself in particular with larger working horses, such as Friesians, Lusitanos, Arabs and draught horses. Hesta Mix Classic should be fed in rations of at least 1 kg per day. It makes an extremely effective feed for large horses, including those who have suffered significant weight loss and during moulting, and, in these cases, should be feed together with oats, hay and straw in rations of 2 kg a day; while small horses and working ponies will not require more than 1 kg of Hesta Classic a day in addition to their normal hay and straw rations. Horses kept by larger riding stables or studs in particular benefit from being fed 1 kg of Hesta Mix a day in addition to the stable’s own feed, and generally show rapid improvement in both the condition of their skin and coats.

Hesta Mix Muesli
Hesta Mix Muesli is an appealing whole food muesli that, just like Hesta Mix Classic, is designed in particular for horses in need of more than 1 kg of concentrate feed a day.

Hesta Mix light energy
Some horses will put on weight very easily when fed concentrated feeds. This is why we have designed a particularly low-energy Hesta Mix variation that is nonetheless extremely rich in micronutrients: Hesta Mix light energy. Hesta Mix light energy can be fed in rations of as little as a few hundred grams, and is suitable in particular for smaller horse breeds such as Haflingers, Icelandic horses, Fjord horses, Shetland ponies and cobs with low calorie requirements that are prone to diet-related eczema. Always combine Hesta Mix light energy with MicroVital if fed in very small quantities.
