Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre
A modern muesli with a high proportion of intact raw fibre. This includes a wide range of herbs that provide a natural source of vital secondary metabolites. Wheat germ, cold-pressed linseed oil, black cumin seeds and grape seeds provide valuable Omega-3 fatty acids. High-availability trace elements supplement the formula, making "Beste Jahre" an ideal anti-aging feedstuff for aging and sensitive horses. Also suitable for the gentle feeding-up of emaciated horses.

Modern
feeding
Allergies, eczema, chronic bronchitis and digestive problems are all diseases that are occurring more and more often today. Horses that are kept outside, special breeds and older horses are particularly affected.
Low energy requirements
Today's horse breeds, including the special breeds and their crossbreeds, are the result of a natural selection process based on performance and frugality, which often goes back centuries. Their breed characteristics are maintained over the generations even when they are resettled. They are genetically fixed.
Greater need for vital substances
Unfortunately, horses are in general no longer deployed in a way that corresponds to their genetic characteristics. This means that their energy requirements drop dramatically. Energy supply has to be regulated so that horses do not become overweight. However, the basic need for vital substances (vitamins, minerals, trace elements and secondary plant substances) remains, meaning that the restriction on calorie intake through conventional feed results in a reduction in the supply of vital substances. Feeding horses with low energy requirements purely on hay/oats cannot therefore be justified.
This is also true for older horses. The energy requirements of older animals are significantly different to those of younger animals. The same circumstances are again present: energy requirements drop while the need for vital substances increases, particularly in terms of trace elements.
Additional factors that lead to a deficiency in vital substances include:
• Uniform grass rations that are low in herbs
• Excessive, imbalanced, or highly inorganic mineral feed additives
and mineral feed additives with high amounts of calcium
Poor roughage quality
The number of horses being kept is increasing while the supply of good quality hay is decreasing. Poor quality roughage initially harms the intestines and liver before moving on to affect the immune system of the skin and the airways in the long term.
Tainted feed, excessive amounts of cereal or grass feed that is too rich in protein cause damage to the liver and dramatically increase the need for trace elements. The consequences of a deficiency include dysbiosis (leaky gut syndrome), emaciation, skin and hoof problems and eventually problems with the immune system such as allergies, eczema and chronic bronchitis. If the enzymes necessary for the metabolic detoxification processes are deficient then arthritis, colic and a more rapid rate of deterioration are the result.
Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre
Modern, roughage-rich feed supplement with a high concentration of vital substances for meeting the increased need for trace elements in older horses or horses with weak immune systems.
Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre meets the demand for a modern, contemporary horse feed. The high level of intact crude fibres counterbalances the lack of quality in the roughage that is available today, to a certain degree. With its wide range of herbs, Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre provides a natural, rich supply of essential vital substances and delivers a high concentration of vital substances. This is also beneficial to special breeds and small horses at levels starting at 500g per day.
This is rounded off by Vitalmuesli that is produced according to a St. Hippolyt process which retains the goodness of the ingredients and which contains cold-pressed linseed oil - known to be beneficial for skin metabolism due to its high content of Omega-3 fatty acids.
The energy is supplied by cereal seeds and vegetable oils, among others. The coarse structure promotes increased chewing. This feed does not contain any pellets to strengthen the effect of valuable natural nutritional components such as certain nutritional herbs, yeast and wheat bran, which naturally promote digestion and intestinal well being.
Both special breeds and horses that are susceptible to eczema or allergies can benefit from this feed. Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre is the perfect anti-aging strategy for older horses.
