The pinacle of the daily feed
A balanced diet is the basis for:
• Vitality, willingness to work and strong nerves in horses
• High reserves of energy and endurance
• Improved resistance to infections, respiratory and digestive problems
• Shiny coat and healthy hoof horn
Disadvantages of imbalanced cereal diet
Standard concentrated feedstuffs often contain significant surpluses of starch and protein. This necessitates compensatory nutrients in the form of premium vegetable oils and structural components. In most cases minerals, trace elements and vitamin supplements are also required.
Consequences of imbalanced diet
The equine digestive system is often unable to cope with the influx of large quantities of cereal starch, often also accompanied by protein. This may lead to listlessness, lack of performance, dull coat and a susceptibility to infection. In the event of ongoing diet imbalance (in particular a lack of good roughage, overly large cereal portions), the result may be disorders of the intestinal flora and damage to the intestinal membrane, leading to wind, diarrhoea, colic and laminitis .

Struktur-Energetikum
Struktur-Energetikum is a biologically-active build-up concentrate based on native wheat germs. With 1 kg per day the horse receives all the minerals, trace elements and vitamins that it requires for well-being, stability and high performance. Sparing amounts of protein and reduced starch contents ensure harmonious nutritient balance in the feedstuff as a whole. Digestion is significantly aided as a result. Over 30 different base-forming herbs, Himalaya Salt, hemp nuts, black cumin and grape seeds round off this proven recipe.
For large horses 1 kg Struktur-Energetikum is used to replace the same quantity of concentrated feedstuff. 1 kg Struktur-Energetikum contains all the necessary minerals, trace elements and vitamins required to supplement hay, oats or concentrated feedstuff rations. This makes Struktur- Energetikum an ideal supplement to classic cereal feed. Standard concentrated feedstuffs can also be enriched and balanced with the vital substances and nutrients of Struktur-Energetikum. Smaller horses with lighter feed requirements may be fed Struktur-Energetikum as an easily-digestible solo concentrated feedstuff.
The relationship of calcium to phosphorous is balanced, thus countering phosphorous residue from cereal feedstuffs. The depletion of important trace elements in the soil, one-sided intake of minerals and the intake of heavy metals all increase the requirements for trace elements. Struktur-Energetikum contains the trace elements in a manner that is complexly bound and therefore especially easy for the body to utilise. This means that it is also possible to cover the increased requirement for trace elements in older horses. Despite all of this, prerequisites for successful nutrition are good quality basic and concentrated feedstuffs, favourable living conditions and appropriate treatment of the horse.
Essential fatty acids
In addition to a high portion of structurally-bound vegetable oils, natural components such as corn and wheat germs, sunflower seeds and linseed also possess natural vitamins, trace elements and secondary metabolites. Black cumin and nut-flavoured hemp seeds are particularly rich in physiologically valuable polyunsaturated omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. This fine range of oils is rounded off in Struktur-Energetikum with the addition of valuable grape oil.
Prostaglandin formation
The significance of unsaturated fatty acids for the health of your horse is derived from the effect of so-called prostaglandins, small molecules with tasks similar to those of hormones. The messenger substance prostaglandin E1 harmonises the immune system, suppresses allergic mediators and regulates inflammation processes. Prostaglandin E1 has a completely different effect on circulation. The body's production of prostaglandin E1 is based upon a broad spectrum of polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as those found in black cumin, hemp nuts and linseed.
Improved mastication
Vegetable fibres and tissue such as chopped hay, dried fruit and herb components promote mastication and the formation of saliva in horses. This is a significant prerequisite for aiding the concentrated feedstuff on its path through the digestive tract.
Harmonisation of the intestinal flora
The enzymatic digestion of carbohydrates, proteins and fats is performed in the small intestine of the horse. All nutritional measures that aim to create a balanced starch-protein-fat spectrum have a beneficial effect on digestion. The release of digestive enzymes from the pancreas can be supported with herbs such as aniseed, fennel or garlic. Enzymatically active nutritional components that enter the digestive tract having survived destruction by heat or physical influences may promote digestion with the aid of vegetable enzymes. These include honey, wheat germ and seeds.
Supporting digestion in the large intestine
Brewer's yeast, linseed, dried fruit and specific trace element compounds enable biotic digestion that is free of excessive wind and protects the membrane of the intestine. Base-forming minerals and kieselguhr ensure a basal and therefore healthy environment within the large intestine. Harmonised intestinal flora favours the bacterial release of B vitamins (e.g. biotin), which are essential for the metabolism of the horse.
Balanced herbal range
The depletion of valuable wild plants and meadow herbs available for food has resulted in a requirement for corresponding natural components to ensure normal feeding conditions. In addition to numerous secondary metabolites, herbs also supply an important quantity and range of trace and rare ultratrace elements that are both useful and necessary in a balanced diet. In addition, herbs are also known to possess digestion-aiding properties (mint, caraway), as well as offering cleansing and detoxifying (stinging nettle, birch, elder), and expectorant (thyme, fennel, aniseed) benefits. Herbs have advanced to become an essential component for general well-being and intact metabolism in equine nutrition.
Vitamins and minerals
The well thought-out addition of vitamins and minerals works to counteract age or stress-related nutrient deficiency and its health consequences over the long run.

Feeding recommendation:
Feeding with Struktur-Energetikum is fundamentally beneficial for all horse types. For large horses we recommend 1 kg, for heavily utilised sport horses a maximum of 1.5 kg daily – added to the standard ration of cereals or mixed feed and hay/straw. An approximately equal amount is deducted from concentrated feedstuff. The addition of further mineral supplements is no longer necessary. Up to 700 g Struktur-Energetikum can be employed as a sole concentrated feedstuff for small horses, ponies and horses with a low energy requirement.
